About the Simple Interest Calculator

Simple interest is charged only on the original amount (the principal). Enter the principal, annual rate and time to see the interest and the total you will pay or receive.

Formula

Interest = P × R × T ÷ 100. Example: Rs 100,000 at 12% for 2 years = Rs 24,000 interest, total Rs 124,000.

Tip

Most savings accounts and loans actually compound; compare with the Compound Interest Calculator to see the difference.
