Frequently asked questions
Are my files uploaded to your server?
No. This tool runs entirely in your web browser. Your file is read and processed on your own device and is never sent to Vexara.
How does background removal work?
Two modes are available. "Plain background" mode runs in your browser and removes backgrounds that are a fairly even colour, such as a wall or studio backdrop. "AI removal" sends the image to the remove.bg service when the site owner has configured it; it handles hair and busy backgrounds. The page tells you which mode is available.
Will my photo be accepted?
We cannot guarantee acceptance. Profiles marked "Published requirement" follow the size rules published by the issuing authority (linked on the page); profiles marked "General template" are common sizes you should confirm with the office you are applying to. Vexara is not affiliated with any government.
What DPI should I use for printing?
300 DPI is standard for photo printing. A 35×45 mm photo at 300 DPI is 413×531 pixels.
Is it free?
Yes. All tools are free to use without an account.
