Many online applications in Pakistan – jobs, admissions, scholarships and licences – ask you to upload a recent ID-card style photo. Here’s how to make one that looks clean and fits common requirements.
First, a note about NADRA
For the CNIC itself, NADRA normally captures your photo at the registration centre. The template described here is for other forms that ask for a CNIC-style or passport-size photo to be uploaded. Always follow the exact size and background instructions of the organisation you are applying to.
How to make the photo
- Take a front-facing photo against a plain wall in good light.
- Open CNIC Photo Maker and upload it.
- Choose the Pakistan ID-card style template, or enter the size the form asks for.
- Align your face with the guides so the head is centred and fills the frame properly.
- Select a white or light-blue background and download.
Meeting file-size limits
Government portals often accept only small files, such as under 50 KB or 100 KB. Run your photo through Compress Photo to KB and enter the limit.
Checklist before uploading
- Recent photo, face clearly visible
- Plain background without shadows
- No filters or heavy editing
- Correct pixel size and file size
- JPG format unless the form says otherwise
Conclusion
A clean, correctly sized photo avoids rejected applications. Use the template, follow the form’s rules, and compress to the required KB before uploading.
